Our mission is to change the perception of breastfeeding in the workplace
First things first, a woman’s choice to breastfeed or not is a very personal one, and each decision must be respected without discussion. When it comes to breastfeeding, your choice will always be the best for your baby.
Today we see real difficulties for working women who want to continue breastfeeding at the end of their maternity leave. Lack of space, lack of information, cultural barriers… Continuing to breastfeed is an obstacle course that can be exhausting.
*We wanted to improve the daily life of working women who wish to continue breastfeeding at the end of their maternity leave, by offering them the most suitable environment possible. We believe it is important to accompany each woman that makes this choice and to help make breastfeeding a positive experience within the workplace.

With Pachamama: we support women who choose to continue breastfeeding and reconcile it with an active professional life.
A need that we meet
Which need do we answer to?
- Returning to work is the first reason women have to stop breastfeeding. Today, women who wish to continue breastfeeding are faced with a lack of facilities in their workplace
- More working women means more breastfeeding women. That’s reason enough to make changes in the workplace. The proportion of women breastfeeding in France has risen from less than 36% in 1970, to 45% in 1995 and to more than 65% today. We should also note that only 40% of women were actively working in 1940; today that percentage has risen to over 70%.
- In light of this double phenomenon, we believe there is a real necessity to adapt /modernize the workplace. The OMS recommends a breastfeeding period of 6 months, and yet a maternity leave cannot exceed 2 and a half months.
Where does the name
Pachamama come from?
We want to honor the goddess Pachamama.

Article L1225-30 : For one year from the day of birth, an employee is allowed one hour per day, during working hours, to breastfeed their child.
*According to a study conducted by the British law firm Slater and Gordon, one in three women who express milk at work is forced to do so in the toilet because of the lack of appropriate facilities.
